About the TOEIC® Listening and Reading Test
The TOEIC® Listening and Reading test is an English-language proficiency test for people whose native language is not English. It was developed to assess the English-language listening and reading skills needed in the workplace and everyday life. TOEIC Listening and Reading test scores indicate how well a person can communicate in English with others in a business setting. The test does not require specialized knowledge or vocabulary beyond that of a person who uses English in everyday workplace activities.
Test content and format
The TOEIC Listening and Reading test is a multiple-choice assessment. There are two timed sections of 100 questions each.
Test length
The test takes about 2.5 hours total:
- 45 minutes for Section I: Listening
- 75 minutes for Section II: Reading
- about 30 minutes to answer biographical questions

Parking
Lot 55 - University Center [UCNTRB] parking fees are $3/hr. or $15/day. Pre-pay for parking before coming to the Testing & Scanning Services Office. Payment can be made by using the Park Mobile app (parking zone #60112) or AMP. When considering the payment for your exam, consider check-in and check-out time for the exam, as well as the full length of the exam.
