TEAS
The Test of Essential Academic Skills (TEAS)®, Version V7, evaluates areas that are essential for academic success in nursing programs. This computer-based, multiple-choice exam is divided into four sub-tests:
- Reading (39 questions/55 minutes) – Key Ideas, Craft & Structure, Integration of Knowledge & Ideas
- Mathematics (34 questions/57 minutes) – Numbers & Algebra, Measurement & Data
- Science (44 questions/60 minutes) – Human Anatomy & Physiology, Life & Physical Sciences, Scientific Reasoning
English and Language Usage (33 questions/37 minutes) – Conventions of Standard English, Knowledge of Language, Vocabulary Acquisition
Exam Length
The total test time is 3 hours and 29 minutes (209 minutes). You should allow approximately 4 hours for the total appointment which includes time for the check-in process and exam instructions.

Exam Dates
To view test dates, click on the registration button below. Select TEAS In-Person or TEAS Remote (Proctorio). Fill in fields 2 and 3. Field 4 contains the testing calendar with available appointments for 3 months.
If the available posted dates do not work with your schedule, email [email protected] to inquire about other potential days/times we may be able to accommodate. Please note that scheduling an alternative appointment date is not possible with less than a 7-10 business day notice nor can we guarantee your request will be fulfilled.
Registration
TEAS is available remotely and in person. When you register, ensure you select the correct option. Below are step-by-step instructions for each option. We recommend registering at least 5 days before your preferred appointment date to secure a seat and complete the reappointment requirement. Same-day appointments are not available.
Register to take TEAS remotely (Proctorio)
The computer you plan to use to test must have a webcam, microphone and high-speed internet connection. Tablets, iPads and smartphones are not approved devices. Ensure you have your ATI account username and password available with your valid state-issued ID or ASU Sun Card ID.
Ensure equipment meets the following technical requirements:
- Microphone: Any microphone, either internal or external
- Webcam: 320x240 VGA resolution (minimum) internal or external
- Desktop or laptop computer (iPads, tablets, or phones are not compatible) with the ability to download Google Chrome
- Internet speed between 0.092 - 0.244 Mbps. You can test your internet speed using www.speedtest.net
- Operating Systems: Windows 10 or later, Mac OS X 10.13 or later

Create an account with ATI
Visit www.atitesting.com and Create New Account. If you wish to have your scores sent to ASU's Edson College of Nursing and Health Innovation, please select "Arizona State University" from the institution dropdown menu when creating an account. To access the test, you will need to enter the ATI username and password that you create. Your ATI username and password are required to take the TEAS.

- Choose between ASU or non-ASU
- Select an appointment date and time. Read through the acknowledgments and complete the registration form.

TEAS pre-appointment set up
At least 2 business days before your TEAS exam appointment, please complete the TEAS pre-appointment set up.
The pre-appointment set up must be completed 2 business days prior to your exam appointment. The step required to prepare your equipment and ensure the exam will run smoothly on test day. Preparing and managing issues in advance will reduce log-in stress on the day of your exam and allow you to focus on the TEAS exam. This step does not include nursing-related questions and will only take a fraction of the time to complete. We ask that you reserve 30 minutes to complete the set up process on the computer you plan to use to take the exam. A 5-7 days before your exam, UTSS staff will email instructions with the log in code to the email address you entered when registering. The testing office must receive documentation demonstrating that the set up process was completed at minimum 2 business days prior to your appointment in order to provide the exam day instructions and code.

Create an account with ATI
Before your exam appointment, please go to www.atitesting.com to create a new account. If you wish to have your scores sent to ASU's Edson College of Nursing and Health Innovation, please select "Arizona State University" from the institution dropdown menu when creating an account. To access the test, you will enter the ATI username and password that you create. You MUST bring that information with you when you come to test.

Admission to the Exam
Remote and in person exam entrance requires a valid government-issued photo ID. You must also know or have with you your 10-digit ASU affiliate ID number (does not apply to non-ASU candidates), your ATI account user ID and password to take the test.
In-person test takers: You may bring food or drink but it must be stored in the reception area. Food or drinks are not permitted in the testing room.
Remote test takers: Log in to the ATI site at the time of your appointment from the computer that was set up. Ensure you have your ATI account username and password available along with your valid state-issued ID. You must be in a quiet uninterrupted location, free from any resources that may help you on the exam. Follow the screen prompts to log in and begin the TEAS exam.
Cost
When you are registering, please ensure you select the correct option (Remote or In-Person). Registration fees are non-refundable.
- In-person TEAS exam registration fee is $98.00
- Remote TEAS exam registration fee is $103.00
Testing Accommodations
Please do not register for a group testing time. Individual testing arrangements will be made once registered and granted through the Student Accessibility and Inclusive Learning Services.
Academic testing accommodations for qualified ASU students can be granted through the Student Accessibility and Inclusive Learning Services (SAILS) by calling 480-965-1234; emailing [email protected]; visiting https://eoss.asu.edu/accessibility/services/current-student.

Reschedule a test appointment
To reschedule your TEAS exam appointment, the following conditions must be met.
- Space is available on the requested test date.
- All transfers must be made by speaking with a staff member ON or BEFORE your originally scheduled exam date. After the originally scheduled exam date, the full registration fee will be required to test.
- Pay a reschedule fee of $15.00 with a credit card; and the difference if switching between in-person to remote.
Scores
You will see your test scores at the end of your testing period. To review your Individual Performance Profile (your score and topics to review/improve) log in to your ATI account.
Retake
Applicants are allowed multiple attempts at the TEAS, but attempts must be at least 14 days apart.
Failure to comply with these restrictions will result in the cancellation of your test results and forfeiture of your entire exam fee. Scores are valid up to two (2) years from when a student took the test. Students must confirm with their academic advisor whether a TEAS score will be valid. Parking
Lot 55 - University Center [UCNTRB] parking fees are $3/hr. or $15/day. Pre-pay for parking before coming to the Testing & Scanning Services Office. Payment can be made by using the Park Mobile app (parking zone #60112) or AMP. When considering the payment for your exam, consider check-in and check-out time for the exam, as well as the full length of the exam. TEAS exam appointments are 4 hours in length, including check-in and check-out.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I have a calculator?
The TEAS exam has an on-screen calculator only. No other calculators are allowed.
Will there be a score report at the end of the exam?
You will see your test scores at the end of your testing period. To review your Individual Performance Profile (your score and topics to review/improve) log in to your ATI account. If you are taking the In-Person TEAS, you will receive a printed copy.
I am applying for ASU’s Nursing Program. Do I need to send the scores to someone?
No, at the end of the testing day, our staff will send all the scores to our Nursing colleagues.
Do I have to complete the TEAS set up process?
The pre-appointment set up portion is required if you registered to take TEAS remotely. The set up process ensures your equipment is prepared to run smoothly on test day and prevent the need to reschedule your appointment.
This step does not include nursing-related questions and will only take a fraction of the time to complete. We ask that you reserve 30 minutes to complete the set up process on the computer you plan to use for the exam 2 business days before your exam.
What type of test material will be included in the pre-appointment set up?
The set up appointment does not include any nursing exam-related questions. You will receive an email with detailed instructions to run the set up on your computer after you register.
Is the pre-appointment graded?
The pre-appointment is not graded. It is referred to as an assessment within the ATI system.
What if I don’t complete the pre-appointment session?
If you are unable to complete the pre-appointment session, we recommend you reschedule as you will not be able to test.
