What to bring to the exam
Acceptable form of photo identification. A current, physical valid photo ID. Reference exam instructions for details regarding what form(s) of identification are required and/or accepted. If the names on your forms of ID do not match, contact the office or exam sponsor to learn what to do and if documentation (e.g., marriage license) may be required. An expired form of ID is not acceptable.
We suggest that you dress in layers to adapt to the room temperature.
You may bring food or drink, but it must be stored in the designated area. Food or drink are not permitted in the testing room.
What not to bring to the exam
The use of electronic devices is strictly prohibited, including the use of calculators, cell phones, smartphones, smartwatches, pagers, photographic devices and/or other electronic or communication devices.
Visitors, including parents, friends and children are not permitted in the testing room under any condition.
Family members, friends and guests of test-takers are not permitted in the testing rooms, nor should they have any contact with test-takers until after the conclusion of the test.
Children are not permitted in the testing room or the reception area. University Testing and Scanning Services staff are not permitted to babysit children.
Please be considerate of other test candidates and do not wear perfume or cologne on your exam day, as many people have allergies that are affected by these smells.
Weapons are prohibited in the Testing office. For more information, visit the ASUPD website or contact the ASU Police Department non-emergency line at 480-965-3456.
I require an accommodation. What should I do?
If you have a medical need that necessitates food or drink, use of a medical device, or other accommodations during the exam, contact the exam sponsor or the testing office to discuss this as soon as possible. It is recommended that this process be started at least two (2) weeks before the exam date.
Don't feel well on your scheduled exam appointment date?
Please do not come to the testing center if you are feeling ill. Please contact the office and/or your exam sponsor to reschedule.
What does the testing office provide?
A clean, quiet, and well-lit testing space
An adjustable chair
Single-use earplugs
Tissue
Scrap paper or dry erase board*
Writing utensils (pencils, dry-erase markers, etc.)*
Secure locker for personal items
*Items provided if permitted by exam sponsor.
Testing rooms are expected to be quiet and offer reduced distraction environments. However, please note that staff are unable to control all sounds inside or outside of the building. You may request earplugs and/or headphones provided by the office to muffle sounds.
Setting and Security
Lockers are provided to store personal items. All personal items, including cell phones, watches, large jewelry, backpacks, books, jackets, and or hats must be stored. *Please refrain from bringing valuables. The testing center is not responsible for lost, stolen, or damaged items. The owner assumes all risks for personal property brought to the testing office.
Electronic devices such as cell phones must be completely turned off and stored in the assigned locker. Once the exam begins and during breaks, access to lockers and personal belongings, including cell phones, is prohibited.
Only permitted items that have been provided by testing staff and approved by the exam sponsor may be used.
Test materials are to remain within the Testing Office.
All activities in testing spaces are monitored by video cameras.
University Testing and Scanning Services is not responsible for lost or stolen articles left in lockers or in the reception area.
University Testing and Scanning Services staff may report and or dismiss a candidate from the testing center for the following reasons:
Creating a disturbance
Using or attempting to use an electronic device/unauthorized testing aide
Using or accessing any outside communication during an exam
Giving or receiving help on the examination
Failing to follow testing procedures and/or instructions
Attempting to remove examination materials or notes from the test center
Impersonating another candidate

Parking
Lot 55 - University Center [UCNTRB] parking fees are $3/hr. or $15/day. Pre-pay for parking before coming to the Testing & Scanning Services Office. Payment can be made by using the Park Mobile app (parking zone #60112) or AMP. When considering the payment for your exam, consider check-in and check-out time for the exam, as well as the full length of the exam.
