I-TOEFL® (Institutional Test of English as a Foreign Language) (ITP)

To take I-TOEFL (ITP)

Please read the following information about I-TOEFL. 

To take the Institutional TOEFL, you must schedule your appointment at least 30 business days in advance of your desired test date. Contact the office at 480-965-7146 or email [email protected] to coordinate a time. Please note: All testing must be completed by 4:00 PM, and payment is required at the time of confirmation.

Once your appointment is confirmed, you will receive a detailed email with instructions for the exam date. 

Admission to the Exam

Exam entrance requires a valid passport and your ASU ID number. The name on your passport must match the name on your registration. 

You must check in at least 30 minutes before test time to be admitted.

Cost

The Institutional TOEFL exam registration fee is $72 and must be paid at the time of registration in the form of a credit/debit card.  This is a non-refundable registration fee. All registrations are final. Candidates cannot receive refunds; transfer the test fee to tuition payment or give/sell an Institutional TOEFL seat to another student.

Testing Accommodation

Academic testing accommodations for qualified students can be granted through the Student Accessibility and Inclusive Learning Services (SAILS) - Phone: (480) 965-1234. Do this as soon as possible.

Once registered and approved, individual testing arrangements with UTSS must be made by email ([email protected]) or via phone (480) 965-7146.

Register & Exam Dates

Testing Hours

• Monday – Friday | 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM

• Note: All exams must be concluded by 4:00 PM.

How to Schedule

• Advance Notice: Appointments must be booked at least 30 business days in advance.

• To Book: Call 480-965-7146 or email [email protected]. Have your ASU Student ID available. The student ID can be found on your Sun Card or in your My ASU portal under the My Profile tab.*** 

• Payment: A $72 exam registration fee is required at the time of confirmation to secure your date.

***If you do not have a valid ASU ID, your appointment will be canceled and the exam registration fee forfeited. If you have questions regarding your eligibility, contact the office.    

Reschedule

To reschedule your appointment, please contact ASU Testing Services at 480-965-7146.

• Advance Notice: You must contact us at least two business days before your scheduled date to transfer your appointment. A $15.00 transfer fee (payable by credit card) will apply.

• Missed Appointments: If you do not reschedule in advance or if your original test date has passed, the full registration fee will be requibeforered to book a new date.

Retake

You must wait at least 30 days between exam dates to retake the Institutional TOEFL exam.

Admission to Exam

Scores

Institutional TOEFL scores will be uploaded to your student record within 7 - 10 business days. To view scores log in to My ASU (My Classes > Transcripts & Test Scores). Printed official score reports are currently not available at this time due to COVID-19. Scores obtained at ASU are only valid at ASU. Transferring scores to another institution is prohibited.

Parking

Lot 55 - University Center [UCNTRB] parking fees are $3/hr. or $15/day.  Pre-pay for parking before coming to the Testing & Scanning Services Office. Payment can be made by using the Park Mobile app (parking zone #60112) or AMP. When considering the payment for your exam, consider check-in and check-out time for the exam, as well as the full length of the exam. I-TOEFL exam appointments are 3 hours in length, including check-in and check-out.
